Ryan getting Filthy as 6am!

Josh cranking out his 50 Knee to Elbows!

Filthy 50 in the back, rowing in the front!

Kris guided Josh through his 2nd WOD of the day…intense!

I’m pretty sure they choreographed this…

Good job going overhead Simon!

Now that I think of it, I have never seen Gavin and Superman in the same place…

Carly’s first little callous. She’s very proud of it!

The trademark of a great workout…you don’t even want to look at the equipment anymore!

See you all Monday!

090206 – Friday

Last Night’s WOD:
3 rep max:

Press & Push Press

I left my camera at home (so I don’t have any other photos), so I had to use my phone to capture Greg going for 205# push press…

And Great Success!

Great effort everyone. And for the bonus points, can anyone name the Points of Performance for Press and Push Press? This one is tougher than the squat.

See you all today, time to get dirty….

090205 – Thursday

What it is everyone…what it is….

Last night’s WOD:

Start with med ball chases. What’s a med ball chase? Grab a med ball and start running. Then have someone run after you. It’s hard, and pretty hilarious. I was laughing too hard to take photos, but I’m sure if you axe (ask) anyone driving on Lankerhim Blvd last night they’d probably have a hard time describing what they saw too…

Then we did a modification of ‘Annie’: Same rep scheme: 50/40/30/20/10, double unders stay the same, but sub sit ups for deck squats.

What the heck are deck squats? Besides being awesome…and just a little funny when you can’t get one completed, it’s a back roll into a squat. Maybe that will help these photos make more sense!

CrossFit…often harder than it sounds…and always more rewarding than you can imagine!

See you all tomorrow at 8pm!

090204 – Wednesday…

Awesome afternoon class today! One of the best things about CrossFit…if I just think of something to do for a workout…people will pretty much do it!

We had a diverse afternoon class, first timers and more experienced CrossFitters. What to do, what to do….

Bingo. ‘Annie’ and 3 rep max deadlift! Constantly varied…YES!

For those that aren’t familiar, ‘Annie’ is a CrossFit Benchmark workout:

50/40/30/20/10 reps of Double Unders (2 passes on the jump rope) and Sit Ups for time.

Then we practiced deadlifts. People who have been through the Elements techniques began to find their 3 rep max lift, while the newer people got comfortable with all the points of performance on the deadlift (aka health-lift).

The afternoon crew working on Double Unders!

New guy Simon, from Australia, busting out his Sit Ups, and using CrossFit to help rehab his knee! That’s exactly what functional movement is for!

Police Officer Erik has been CrossFitting for a while…and it shows. Great form on his 300lb deadlift!

Finally, my friend Joseph Salim, a 3 time Olympian from Denmark and Hungary came by to say hi. He also said ‘take advantage of the February Grand Opening Special and get CrossFit!’ Ok, maybe he didn’t say that…but he did say I needed to get longer shorts :)

See you all tonight!

090204 – Wednesday

Last night’s WOD:

Back Squat: 5×5 ( 5 sets of 5 reps)

Awesome job last night going heavy everyone! It’s important to remember that we work on new aspects of fitness and ESPECIALLY the parts that aren’t so comfortable. When you work those 2 places, big gains always begin to come!

Great job on your way to the bottom, Joe!

New guy Josh showing solid form (once his shoes were off!) and hitting the main ‘points of performance’ on the squat…

Can you name the main points of performance for the air squat? Try, and post what you’ve come up with to comments.

See you all today for something even ‘newer’…

And don’t forget to check out our February specials in the membership section! Prices as low as $49 per month! The best fitness on the planet, a great group of people, and keep some extra cash in your pocket…and did I mention it was CrossFit? :) I’m pretty sure I could have just stopped there, it’s all that ever needs to be said.

090203 – Tuesday

Yesterday’s WOD:

‘Tabata This’ (Minus Rowing)

20 seconds of work, 10 seconds rest, 8 rounds in a row of the same movement, 4 movements.

Your lowest rep total in any one round per movement is your Tabata #.

Ring Rows/Sumo Dead Lift High Pull, Push Up,  Sit Up, Squat

Post your Tabata score for each movement and your combined Tabata score to comments.

Kris helping Brian get his chest to the floor!

New gal Noelle and new guy Peter rocking Tabata Sit Ups!

Getting close to the end…

Almost there….

And Bam! Done!

What Jones Town must have looked like… ;)

I promised Greg that I’d post one picture of him not on his back after the WOD…we’ll get him next time….

See you all tonight at 8pm for something completely different!
