jus a lil reminder

to all of our athletes @ CFNoHo; i’d like to take a moment to thank you.  your hard work, your consistency, your willingness to learn and try, and if you fail, try again; these things are no small motivation for us to do our best for you.  part of coaching and guiding you on your fitness journey is a bit of reminding and re-educating on some of the less sexy (but real important) components of getting fit.

some of you folks have been hittin it real hard lately, and that kicks ass!  our love of posting your”flop” pictures speaks for itself about our enthusiasm for your willingness to push with intensity.  but remember that the adaptations we are chasing don’t occur instantly, nor in a vaccuum; the body needs rest to recover from intense effort. what you do in the other 23 hours of the day that you’re not in our gym is no less important than the WOD when it comes to increasing your work capacity across broad time and modal domains.  reaping the full benefits of your intense workouts requires that you sleep enough, hydrate, feed yourself good food, don’t stress out too much, and sometimes… really chill out and just take an extra rest day every now and then (as i’m doing today).  if you have questions about any of these things, ask away and i will do my best to give you all the goods of what i know.  thanks for listenin.
