Saturday’s 9am & 10am classes will be doing a new Memorial WOD, called “Christina”, named after Christina Taylor Green, the 9 year old girl who was a tragic victim of the shootings in Arizona last weekend. The workout was designed by Jennifer Lawrence of CF Northwest Tucson. Her firefighter husband’s rig responded to the call, and they’ve programmed a WOD, called “Christina”. We’ll do this in her and everyone killed or injured in this shooting’s honor, as a team WOD with scaling options, of course.

  • Barbell Class is a Huge Hit! Remember, it’s now every Saturday at 11am. Greg & Pnutz did a great job and everyone’s form looked excellent. Yeah buddy!
  • We need about a half dozen volunteers to help at the American Record Breakers Weightlifting Competition on Saturday, January 29 at the LA Fitness Expo. Coach Takano is hosting the event, and we need volunteers for Friday day to build stuff and Sunday afternoon to tear stuff down. If your job skills meet these rigorous criteria, sign up at the Front Desk!
  • Coaches Tim & Tyler will be lifting at the American Record Breakers, their first National Level meet, as will fellow Phat Elvis Weightlifting lifters from the box 2007 Pan Am Games Silver Medalist Emmy, & Lindsey! We’ve got a big crew going to compete, so if you’re interested, we’d love to have you there….and if you see them in the box lifting, tell ’em good luck & go heavy!!! To lift at this meet, you must qualify with 90% of the National Total for your weight…just another benefit of having one of the top weightlifting clubs in the country at our box!
