It’s Thursday…and for April that means….Member Spotlight Time! We’ve got a ton of fun stuff building up this month – stay tuned and stay in the game

And today’s awesome member spotlight is Craig Lacko! He is a man amongst men in the High Voltage Community he’s 10′ tall and can deadlift 1000#.. Even cooler…he comes in with the best attitude to hit it hard and get his work done. Ok ok he 9′ 7″ but he really does bring a great attitude and is a blast to have train with us.

Describe your first work out – and yes we want the deets!

First of all I used to laugh at everyone running around the block with medicine balls above their heads ridicule the cheering and thinking that it must be a bunch of wanna be actors trying to get in shape.  Reluctantly I tried it once.  It completely kicked my butt made me want to puke and I was hooked.

Before joining High Voltage was there a time you felt that something had to change?

I weighed about 245 loved going to the gym but never really got in the shape I wanted to be in.  I knew I had to lose some weight so I figured I would give this “crossfit” thing a shot.

Describe your most memorable CrossFit Experience.

My first day.  I was amazed at how helpful everyone was how challenging the workout was and how fun getting in shape could be.  One year later still the same great attitude at the gym still a lot of fun and tons of great people to hang out with.

Has there been an area of your life most impacted by your decision to join High Voltage?

Food intake.  I ate pretty good when I was home but tended to eat bad stuff throughout the work day.  After doing the Paleo challenge I actually could feel the difference in my body when I ate healthy vs. the junk food.

Have you ever had to use your CrossFit outside of the box?

Not so much the moves but the core strength all of the time.  I have noticed this the most while playing golf.

Who is your most idolized fellow Volt or Vixen.

I know I am going to sound like a complete brown noser but Tim is the man.  He has the unique quality of making everyone feel important always there to help you do your best or bottom line just keep you motivated to come and work hard.  If I can’t pick Tim then its Coach Jose and how he is a “chick magnet”.

What is your favorite cheat meal?

Taco Bell no doubt!

How has getting in shape changed your professional life?

Sure! I wake up with more energy chip away at the daily tasks and ultimately have a great stress relief at the end of the day.  No matter how hectic the day was the WOD seems to find a way to put everything in perspective.

What is your one year CrossFit goal?

Muscle ups for sure beating my regional ranking next year and trying to get Javier into the box more than one time a week.  “Come on Javi!!!
