Describe your first workout. Did you say Deets?? Sure did so LET’S HEAR THEM!!!!

My very first workout was baseline I was so scared and nervous I had Volt Chad Brewster come with me! (thank you Chad!) It was tough but I was so excited that I finished. However my first work out in a class setting was something with wall balls. Was I scared? Yes! I was so nervous that I went to all levels because I knew I had my boyfriend Ryan Felix there who is my support system. He was right next to me telling me that I could do it. I was struggling so much that I got teary eyed I wanted to cry!!!!! My brain was telling me I couldn’t do it but I didn’t want to quit! I took a break and looked at Ryan and said “I’m never coming back!” But once I finished I felt accomplished tired and happy that I got through it! Then Katie Chad our coach Tim and other vixens and volts were telling me what a good job I did and all I can think is “are they lying to me?” But being a part of this supportive community and genuine support is what keeps me coming back!

When did you know something had to change before joining CrossFIt High Voltage?

I started to gain weight. I wasn’t happy with the way I looked and going to the gym was not doing anything for me. I have never been athletic never played a sport so my idea of working out was going to the gym and getting on a machine that looked interesting while reading a magazine. I know PATHETIC!

Describe your most memorable CrossFit experience.

My most memorable CrossFit experience was getting a double under! I remember it was during a WOD when I finally got a DU I yelled “YAY!” with a smile that was ear to ear!

Tell us about an area of your life most impacted by your decision to join CrossFIt High Voltage.

My support: The Wolf Pack: Katie Chad Ryan and Bryan They would always talk about their workouts PR RX WOD’s I was so lost but yet curious as to what all this meant. When they saw that I was intrigued with getting into shape they pushed me to try it out!

When have you used CrossFit outside of the box?

Literally the farmers walk is something I do at least once a week at work. I carry gallons of water one in each hand and walk it over to the staff lounge. I talk about it my diet my health and I find myself pushing people to be healthier fitter and try to keep them inspired like the community of high voltage does for me!

Who is your most idolized fellow Volt or Vixen and why?

The Wolf Pack: Katie Ryan Chad and Bryan: Katie Brewster(Alpha) most of you guys think she is Chad’s wife but she is MY WIFEY whom I love so much!! Well remember those excruciating 7 minutes of burpees well this insane woman got up asked her judge “what was my score?” and walked around as if she just did a 2 minute warm up. They say runners are insane!!! Also she is becoming an AMAZING coach always so encouraging she always has a smile on her face and willing to help. Katie inspires me to work hard and face my fears in the CrossFit world! She keeps me encouraged to come back for more. Ryan (Lone Wolf) for always pushing himself to do better! Recently seeing him compete and seeing that competitive drive in him that pushes him to be a better version of himself not only physically but mentally has sparked something in my brain to think “I want that drive!” it has not only been fun to watch but inspiring (this applies to Katie and Chad as well). Also seeing him Deadlift 465# while having bronchitis is just amazing to me! Chad for always having my back; seeing him on this journey as he has not only transformed his body to being lean and fit but becoming an overall amazing CrossFitter is awesome! Bryan Felix have you seen a before picture? Brother you have transformed to be an amazing CrossFitter who always is determined to do better which makes me want to do better as well! Deb aka: DLo since day 1 has made me feel so comfortable in my skin as to telling me that “I can” right when I think I can’t. She has been so encouraging. Seeing her PR workout as RX move up in weight with OHS BS DL etc. is awe-inspiring! She pushes me to do better move up in weight and when I’m doubting myself she is always saying that I can do it!  Charissa Keifer who is such a beautiful mommy of two and soon to be three is an amazing CrossFitter who keeps up with the boys and if I can work out as hard as her with two kiddos and look like that after two kids I’m Sold!!!! Hayley Montroy who is always smiles and has a laughter that can fill a room. She is a beast who rocks every workout and is always pushing herself which inspires me to push myself. This list can go on to all the high voltage community that comes back for more and is so supportive and genuinely pushing each other to take it that extra step further is one of the entities that keeps me coming back and keeps me inspired!!!!

What are some your favorite cheat meals and why?

Traditional Mexican food (the real stuff: menudo mondongo flautas alpastor tamales tacos [my mouth is watering] list can go on…) horchata Mac and Cheese clam chowder baked potato with everything red velvet cake fruit tart (from Porots) chocolate cake lasagna WINGS chocolate almond milk chocolate power berries french fries with bacon cheddar cheese and ranch…

How has getting in shape changed your professional life?

I’m healthier It has made me mentally stronger more confident and being able to keep up with the kids at work while playing tug -a-war capture the flag basketball has been a plus ;).

What are some of your CrossFit goals for the next 365 days?

A pull up and do double unders consistently.

How long have you been CrossFitting?
