Tuesday: Back Squats and Horomones

Hey guys! For those of you who were wondering “why all that time under the barbell?”. Check out these awesome facts!

Back squats 2

What’s up guys! Lets look at some facts about the back squat.

  • The squat recruits a vast number of different muscle groups making it truly a full-body movement.
  • Hip extension is very important to our health. Heavy squats are a great way to improve and develop hip extension.
  • If you have mild back problems back squats can help to resolve these issues.
  • The squat is a very natural movement for us as humans. This means that our physiology is designed for squatting.

On top of all that time under tension (under a barbell) releases testosterone and human growth hormone into the bloodstream. This is extremely beneficial for both men and women looking for overall strength gains.

So if you’re wondering how to become stronger in all areas and improve your crossfitting skills try adding some extra back squats to your goat work and see for yourself!
