Thursday: Member Spotlight!
This week’s Member Spotlight shines on one of our strongest athletes.
When I first started CrossFit I was fit but in a different way not according to CrossFit standards. I couldn’t even do a pullup and my technique on all olympic movements was pretty terrible. I wasn’t nervous or scared but rather determined and up for the challenge. I enjoyed the push and had a great desire to improve.
When did you know something had to change before joining CrossFit High Voltage?
I never thought something had to change I just wanted to do something different and take my training to a new level. I was bored with my old fitness routine. I felt CrossFit was something I could be great at it if I put the work into it and I considered it as my new ‘sport’ or hobby.
Describe your most memorable CrossFit Experience.
My most memorable CrossFit experience was Regionals 2011.
Tell us about an area of your life most impacted by your decision to join CrossFit High Voltage.
The fitness/health aspect of my life has changed dramatically and gone to a new level. I have purpose with my workouts and a larger goal in mind than just to be fit.
When have you used CrossFit outside of the box?
When I go to the gym on my own I am more creative and am able to implement new workout styles and techniques.
Most idolized fellow Volt or Vixen.
I’m team Tim all the way. He leads by example as a phenomenal athlete and I appreciate his sincerity sense of humor and humbleness. He exemplifies a great leader and I am thankful for his dedication and level or care for each individual’s success.
What is your favorite cheat meal?
Meal? Give me dessert. I’m obsessed with chocolate and sugar (terrible I know).
How has getting in shape changed your professional life?
I also work in the health/fitness profession. CrossFit has allowed me to expand my skill set in my profession. I’m doing things I never thought possible.
One year CrossFit goal?
