Tuesday: Why I’m Doing the WLC

The Whole Life Challenge is only 19 days away and a lot of us have already taken the Challenge by the horns and signed up.

This will be our 2nd year doing the Whole Life Challenge and we’re all pretty stoked to do it especially our very own Vixen Jessica “Red” Chrismer.

When we told Red that we’re doing the WLC  this year she was so happy (like a smiley face emoticon happy) that she wrote us a testimony to share with the CrossFit High Voltage Community her experience with the WLC. Let’s hear what she has to say…

 

“I am super excited about the Whole Life Challenge! When I did the challenge last year I was skeptical about it. I figured “I work out everyday so I can eat what ever I want!”  In just a few weeks into the challenge I could see and feel a difference in my body.  The challenge made me more aware of what I’m putting into my body and how unaware I was of what processed food was doing to it.
 
My whole life I experienced painful stomach cramps but thought nothing of it. I was told by doctors that it was a hormonal imbalance caused by too much stress. Being a very active and fast paced person I ignored the doctor and learned to deal with it. It wasn’t until after the Whole Life Challenge that I learned I had Celiacs Disease. The gluten in the processed foods I had been eating my whole life was destroying my organs and slowly killing me. If I have to be honest I have to say that this Challenge saved my life.”

 

Red’s story is pretty powerful. We’re so thankful that she’s a part of our Community at CrossFit High Voltage and that she is RAISING her GAME and signed up for the Whole Life Challenge as soon as registration opened last week.

 

Now remember this Challenge isn’t just about being 8 weeks long – it’s more than that! It’s about being accountable to yourself and your Community through your:

  • Working out
  • Mobilizing
  • Supplements

Tuesday’s Training: 

Pre-Skill Anaerobic: Rowing:

  • Row 200m rest as rotations x 3 sets

 

Skill: Overhead Squat

  • 8 reps @ 30×1

 

WOD: 5 Rounds for total reps

30 seconds on 30 seconds off to rotate no 1 min rest period just continue to the 30 sec rest

  • Row for cal
  • OHS (Bar Only)
  • Sit ups

Pre-Skill Anaerobic: Rowing

  • Row 250m rest as rotations x 3 sets

 

Skill: Overhead Squat

  • 8 reps @ 30×1

 

WOD: 5 Rounds for total reps

  • OHS (Bar Only)
  • Sit ups

Ax 4-5 sets

A. 3 Position Power Snatch:

  • High Hang Below Knee Floor rest 2 min

 

B. 4 Rounds for total time – high effort

  • 7x Power Snatch (from floor)
  • Row 100m hard
  • Rest 2:30

 

C. Finish with: Finish with Max Plank Hold 45/25# on back
