All of NEW things!

Make sure to read through to the end for a special guest blog!

But first, this weekend is going to be HUGE!!  Check it out:

Oly Class Returns:

Starting THIS Saturday, July 29 at 10am, Olympic Drills for Skills returns from 10-11:30am!

This class will run for 9 weeks, and each week will focus on one of the Olympic lifts: the clean, the jerk, or the snatch.  We’ll touch on each lift 3 times over the 9 weeks.

The class this cycle will be led by myself & Coach Bryan Felix.

This is by far one of our most popular classes as it gives you all the opportunity to focus on fine tuning these complex and intricate lifts.

By breaking them down into drills that address each portion of the lift before trying to put the whole thing together, it will help create the awareness & intention necessary to set you up for successful fluid movements.

There IS daycare for this class every week!

We’re excited it’s coming back, and we know you are too!

NEW CrossFit Kids Class:

Starting THIS Saturday, July 29 we will now be splitting our Kid’s class in two, and introducing CrossFit Sparks! The new Saturday schedule will be:

  • CrossFit Kids (ages 8-12): 9:00am – 9:45am
  • CrossFit Sparks (ages 3-7): 10:00am – 10:30am

We’ll be giving this a trial run for the whole month of August, and our Sparks class will be totally FREE for this trial month. If you want to keep it on the schedule, all you gotta do is show up and have FUN!

Firebreather’s Class Returns:

That’s right!  The infamous advanced class is returning and will continue to run every Saturday @ 8am.

This class requires a test-in to participate. Passing this test is a rite of passage and creates a bond amongst those who have come before.  It’s why you have to be tested in by someone who has already passed.

The weekly advanced classes historically have been some of the very best training sessions of the week.  They bring a special intensity, camaraderie, and magic that just doesn’t happen anywhere else.

The time has come for it to return, and YOU can be a part of it!

We’ll be having a gym-wide test-in opportunity on Saturday, August 12 @ 11:30am.

All are welcome to give it a shot.  If you aren’t already familiar with the test, email me or ask one of our coaches or existing Firebreathers for the scoop!

Schedule this Weekend:

  • Saturday @ 8am: Firebreather’s Class (advanced & requires test-in)
  • Saturday @ 9am: CrossFit Kids (ages 8-12)
  • Saturday @ 9am: Shred Sesh
  • Saturday @ 10am: CrossFit Sparks (ages 3-7)
  • Saturday @ 10am: Olympic Drills for Skills
  • Saturday @ 11:30-1:30: Open Gym
  • Sunday @ 10am: Energizer Long WOD

“The Road Less Travelled” by Coach Tyler:

One final note, and it comes at the end of the blog out of respect for Tyler who didn’t want to me to make a “big deal out it” Haha.  I asked him to write things in his own words, so here it is:

The Road Less Travelled …

“My CrossFit fitness journey began nine years ago when I joined “CrossFit High Voltage” and eventually came full circle when I was given the opportunity to return to this community and…that has made all the difference.

My ‘road less travelled’ return home has been a time of tremendous personal growth for me, so I find it beyond serendipitous I’m able to start a new chapter in my life’s journey by closing this one at the place where it all began. I want to thank everyone at CFHV, friends old and new, for making me feel welcome.

I also want to give a big shout of thanks to Dan and Chico for their ongoing professionalism and continued commitment to creating a very positive and encouraging environment for growth.

In the years away from CFHV I had the opportunity to experience many different roads and approaches to the fitness discipline and can stand as a witness to the fact that if you’re a part of the CFHV Community, then you are numbered among the fortunate!

I’m thankful for everyone I was allowed the privilege of helping along their respective fitness journeys and I’ll be forever grateful for the inspiration and experiences you’ve given me in return.

Stay after them GAINZ!”

I know it’s a little vague, but Tyler has a big personal announcement coming very soon, and we don’t want to spoil his surprise!

Tyler was my first coach, helped train many of the coaches here over the years, and literally helped with the construction building this gym way back in 2009.

His legacy will live on, and we wish him the very best on his exciting new journey.
