Member Spotlight: Dorys de Vega
Today’s feature is one half of a dynamic duo that trains hard, has the biggest smiles, and the best attitude. You’ll find her usually at Open Gym crushing the day’s programming, and eager to participate in every community event.
She’s recently taken on the commitment of our ITP program, and hopes to be a full head coach at CFHV in 2018. Take a moment to learn more about:

Describe your first work out here at CrossFit High Voltage:
My first workout in High Voltage was in July 2016 and it was a strongWOD Saturday class, it was an awesome class with coach José and me and my husband had an amazing welcome from the High Voltage community.
Before joining High Voltage, when did you know something had to change?
I began doing CrossFit 2 and a half years ago because I really enjoy to train hard, as a volleyball player I trained every single day for almost 15 years and I knew I was in need of a new sport when I left volleyball behind. CrossFit was what I need and I felt in love since the first time I did it.
Describe your most memorable CrossFit Experience so far.
Having the opportunity to participate in the Open competition for two years in a row had been my most memorable experience, competing with yourself and see yourself growing as an athlete and support your community to accomplish goals is the best feeling ever.
Outside of High Voltage, what kind of work do you do? Give yourself a plug!
I’m a full time Mom and work in two different part time jobs.
How has getting in shape changed your professional life?
I’m full of energy all day long and my state of mind had change a lot, being in sports teaches you that you can achieve anything in your life so you become kind of a stubborn person.
Tell us about an area of your life most impacted by your decision to join High Voltage.
We were new residents in Burbank and United States and joining High Voltage had been one of our best decisions in our life, we have met our new friends-family here.
When have you used CrossFit outside of the box?
Every single day, being a mom of two super active boys is really demanding, trust me.
Who is your most idolized fellow community member?
Every single person in the community, everyone have their story and their struggles, everyone have to fight with their own fears and weakness and that’s why we train every day.
What is your one year or next CrossFit goal?
Learn more about CrossFit so I can share my knowledge with others and also become a better athlete accomplishing new goals.
What is your favorite & least favorite movement or WOD?
My favorite movement are Cleans and my least are T2B
What is your favorite cheat meal?

Great box, great coaches, awesome community.
