This guy is OG from back in the day. He’s been training with us for a long time, and has gone through all of the lifetimes of an athlete. He started out as a staple in our mid-day CrossFit classes, and after some time changed his focus to take advantage of individual program design.
Over the next few years, he worked with a number of our personal training coaches to hone his skills and massively build his strength. After some serious gains, he’s now recently returned to incorporating our daily CrossFit training- and he’s a new athlete!
Add to this he’s our resident rowing master, has hosted a number of rowing seminars for us, as well as a regular monthly rowing class. Coming from a competitive collegiate rowing background, CFHV is really lucky to have him.
To top it off, he’s made fitness a family affair. His wife was one of our original momWOD crew, and his son Liam was one of my very first CrossFit Kids when I started the program back in 2015. Today though we focus on his achievements, and it’s my pleasure to feature:

Describe your first work out here at Crossfit High Voltage:
I don’t remember… and that’s on purpose… but apparently I came back for more.
Before joining High Voltage, when did you know something had to change?
Started working in animation and gained 40# … twas fairly apparent…
Describe your most memorable CrossFit Experience so far.
As an endurance athlete, how incredibly important it is to stay strong and mobile as well…
Outside of High Voltage, what kind of work do you do? Give yourself a plug!
I work in animation making movies and TV shows!
How has getting in shape changed your professional life?
Gives me a real life balance… the hours animation requires can really pull you out of balance!
Tell us about an area of your life most impacted by your decision to join High Voltage.
It made me realize that age is just a number… I am 2x as strong than I have ever been in my entire life at 46 years old.
When have you used CrossFit outside of the box?
Everywhere I go…. being able to move or do anything allows me to participate in anything I want and never worry about getting crushed.
Who is your most idolized fellow community member?
Anybody on the firebreathers team…
What is your one year or next CrossFit goal?
Turn gymnastics into my strength rather than my weakness and eat better! And possibly pass the firebreathers?!
What is your favorite & least favorite movement or WOD?
Favorite is the back squat, my least favorite is the muscle up and the one I learned to love is … burpees!
What is your favorite cheat meal?
ICE CREAM! And yes, that’s a meal… at least in my book …
