What’s your name?
Describe your first time trying CrossFit:
I came in for my intro at CrossFit High Voltage on May 9th 2011. Coach Esther put me through “Baseline” and it absolutely crushed me. She was trying to talk to me afterwards about memberships and I was just sitting in a chair not hearing a word she was saying. I’m pretty sure I told her that as well. I made it home eventually and was sore sore for days afterwards that I planned on never going back, but coach kept calling me day after day and eventually I did come back and the rest is history.
Before starting CrossFit, when did you know something had to change?
Like a lot of people I was doing bodybuilding split type workouts for a long time before I found CrossFit. I was so bored with my routine that I would get the gym and get through a couple sets of bench press or bicep curls and then walk out and drive to Portos and stuff my face with cookies.
Describe your most memorable CrossFit Experience so far.
Probably my first NLI competition sometime in 2012. It was a little scary, and really hot. I think I finished 5th in the beginners division, but it made me realize how far I had come in a short period of time.

How has getting in shape changed your professional life?
I was a technical writer for a software company before I found CrossFit. I got in shape, fell in love with movement and coaching, and now I am a co-owner of CrossFit High Voltage with Dan and Chico. I’m not sure you can have a much bigger change than that.
