Ring Dip Videos!
Special blog here! Since we have Ring Dips in this cycle on Wednesdays, I made some SPECIAL videos just to address some important points of performance here.
The first video is basic instruction of ring dip technique. These can be very challenging, particularly for our female athletes. The most important part is obviously safe & sound mechanics.
There are some important postural pieces and technique points of performance that can really help connect the dots and lock down this movement, while also keeping you healthy and strong.

Ring Dips seems crazy? Impossible? Not quite ready for that? Well I have something for you too! Here is a video with some simple progressions that are accessible to everybody, regardless of skill level.
This first one can be done with toes on the box, feet on the box, or even toes/feet on the floor. With feet connected to the floor and using the legs to help the press, everybody can feel what it’s like to do this movement in the actual positions and stimulus.

My final video for you today is a twist on the band assisted ring dip. Traditionally a band is through the rings, with one side held in place by your hand, and your knee in the band- there are a few issues with that variation.
It doesn’t keep you in the hollow body position for one. Another problem is that having your knee in the band forces the rings together, thus not allowing you to work on maintaining the rings close to your body and stable on your own.
The variation I offer solves both these problems. It keeps you in the hollow position, allows you to maintain the rings yourself, AND gives you the assistance you need at the toughest portion of the bottom of the dip.
