A BIG week ends with a Bang!

What a week it was! I really can’t say enough how proud I am of our community at CFHV this week. Testing week can go a lot of ways, but you all really came to play.

We started the week strong with a ton of front squat PRs. Not just a few pounds, but some of you saw gains of 5, 10 or even 20# or more! The front squat is a very demanding lift, not just in strength, but stability, balance, coordination, and mobility- so this is a big deal!

Tuesday we had a two-fer with our clean & jerk, followed by benchmark “Elizabeth”. Once again, I saw so many improvements and people really digging deep here. We’ve been refining our Oly technique over the course of a few cycles now, and now has been the culmination of all of that work.

How’d it go? Once again, a ton of personal records. Olympic Weightlifting challenges our central nervous system in special and unique ways that we can’t experience anywhere else. Some of the struggles and resulting resilience I saw as you all tackled this challenge was really amazing.

Elizabeth was also an exciting time, and a great way to wrap things up. Many of you took this on RX for the first time. Others tried a new more challenging variation of ring dips that you hadn’t tried before, and that’s what it’s all about- pushing just a little past what you thought was possible, and then realizing you have an entirely new potential there to unlock!

Then the biggie: the back squat! Despite the fact that this lift wasn’t even the primary focus of this cycle…despite the fact you had already tested for two days previous…you all brought it yet again! I can’t even say I’m surprised to be honest. I’ve come to expect this kind of hard work, consistency, and dedication from our family here- and it’s something I’m so proud & grateful for every day.

CrossFit Kids FREE Classes:

Do you have some kids ages 6-11 that might want to try one of our CrossFit Kid’s programs? CFHV has been hosting a few limited FREE CrossFit Kids sessions for any of you who have a child or know a child that may be interested in trying it out.

There are still two opportunities left, the first one THIS Saturday, November 17 @9am, and our final event on Thursday, December 6 @3:30pm.

Invite every kid you know, because these are sure to be a blast and a great way to introduce your kids to the fun & excitement of fitness with friends.

AcroYoga Workshop:

Join Coach Lura Harley for CFHV’s very first AcroYoga Workshop THIS weekend, Saturday, November 17th 2-4pm. There are still a few spots available, but you gotta act fast!
AcroYoga is a physical practice which combines yoga, acrobatics and Thai massage. No experience is necessary, and this workshop will take you through some of the very basic poses. 
You don’t need to bring anything special other than yourself and a positive attitude! Wear clothes that are not too slippery: full leggings are best. The cost is only $40 for the FULL two hour event. See you there!
