What’s your name?
Describe your first time trying CrossFit:
I don’t remember my first wod but I said that I don’t have kids yet but I think giving birth is easier!
Before starting CrossFit, when did you know something had to change?
I liked taking groupies (yeah not selfies) since time immemorial way before selfie was even a word with my first, big, fat 1megapix digital camera. Then the time came when I couldn’t find my angle in the camera, until it went to a point where I didn’t want to be in photos. Sad! Looking at myself in the mirror I couldn’t even see my earrings anymore, my small nose got smaller on my bigger face. One day I woke up and told myself I had to do something!
Describe your most memorable CrossFit Experience so far.
When I got 20lb PR on my deadlift because I wasn’t counting along the way. Sorry, i overthink sometimes.
Outside the box, what kind of work do you do? Give yourself a plug!
Currently I manage a dental office. Changing careers soon as I just passed my RN exam.
How has getting in shape changed your professional life?
I think I’ll get to use it more when I get a nursing job, some postings require for the nurse to be able to push & pull xxlbs, lift xxlbs. If so, I’m excited as long as my scrubs don’t rip.
Tell us about an area of your life most impacted by your decision to join CrossFit:
More than anything physical, it keeps my mind healthy at 100mph.
When is a time you’ve been able to use CrossFit outside of the box?
Travelling especially. Just recently I was running to catch my plane from the US customs to my gate with my heavy backpack, cross body bag, shopping bags on my hands, in my Dr Martens! That was close!
Who is your most idolized fellow community member?
Krystal Avila. She never gives up!
What is your one year or next CrossFit goal?
To do better on my snatch and more upper body strength.
What is your favorite & least favorite movement or WOD?
Favorite– clean. Least– snatch– It’s my overthinking of going under the bar.
What is your favorite cheat meal?
Anything with pork fat, steak fat, chicken skin. Yeah, the real, fatty fat. If cooked right, they melt in your mouth!
If you had to describe CrossFit in one sentence:
Crossfit is like pringles, once you pop you can’t stop.
