A Holiday Perspective
Sometimes I feel like the week between Christmas and New Year’s is a week in temporary suspension. Many of us are out of our routine, taking some time to rest (and eat), and just generally slowing everything down in our lifestyle.
It’s important to keep moving forward, but also to not be too hard on yourself for any of that extra rest or calories. One of my favorite ways to look at the week is this:
“What you do between Christmas and New Year’s isn’t as important as what you do between New Year’s & Christmas”.
I really love the sentiment behind that statement, and I think it’s a good way to look at things! So…this week at the gym we have also kept moving forward, and tried to be a place you can count on to be consistent even if the rest of your life isn’t right now.
We’ve had a really great turn out through the whole month of December. It’s been a packed house as always, but everybody is always so considerate & kind to each other. One big happy family having all the fun on at a special time of year.
This week we’ll be open EVERY day, with the following adjustments:
- Monday, New Year’s Eve: REGULAR schedule, NO 730 & 830pm.
- Tuesday, New Year’s Day: 10am CrossFit (with daycare), 11am CrossFit (NO daycare)
We’re on the regular cycle both of those days as well as we head into testing week next week- a good place to put all that food and rest to work for you!
I hope you all are having a great holiday season, whether you’re here in town, or off visiting family & friends somewhere else.
I’m really looking forward to training with you all this week as we wind down 2018 and look forward to all of the great things in store for 2019!
