We Love it When You Share!
Anybody else’s legs feeling a little jelly??
OK! So we have 19.1 in the books. Congratulations to everyone who participated and I’m seriously SO proud of our gym. As of now we officially have 84 of you signed up and #intheopen, and I suspect to see that number increase by the end of tomorrow.
THAT’S AN ALL-TIME GYM RECORD!
BUT…we had WAY more people than that give it their full effort on Friday and through the weekend. That’s what is most important- participating surrounded by the support of your community.
I’ve loved seeing all of your photos, videos, & stories on Facebook & Instagram this weekend. Rocking those 2019 Open shirts, showing your spirit, and representing our home.
The day got started with our 6 & 7am crew throwing down with some impressive scores. Then at 9:30am momWOD was lit! It’s so great to see that group as they grow, and the diversity is amazing- showing that all types and ability levels can come together to achieve a common goal.
Open gym was even flourishing throughout the day. No matter what your schedules or commitments were, everybody made sure to get it in and complete their WOD. Many of you even came back later that night to cheer on your old friends, and make some new ones.
Our first FNL was a charged night with a special energy in the air that only CFHV has. For some of you it was your first, and many of you were returning vets. Regardless of which category you fall into, we now know what we have to look forward to for 4 more Fridays, and it’s gonna be a blast!
The night was capped off as our 2018 Most Improved Male Athlete Cody Ward took on the WOD solo while the whole gym cheered him on, and DJ Ben spun him his own tunes. It was so great to see so many of you stick around for support until the very last athlete was done.
We also had many first timers this year, some of whom have been CrossFitting less than 6 months. That’s really so special and not to be overlooked. We also have the entire Teens class participating this year- including Olivier, Gabrielle, & Jackson, who were my very first CrossFit Kids when I started the program over 3 years ago now.
I am always honored to see the camaraderie among you all, the personal break-through moments, and of course some pretty epic performances. Let’s continue that spirit as we look to week 2.
What now? First off, you MUST enter your scores by 5pm on Monday or it doesn’t count! HQ makes no exceptions, so make sure to go to https://games.crossfit.com/ scroll down, and click the “submit scores” button. Enter your score, your affiliate, & your judge.
Scores will then be validated by Monday evening, and we’ll have the gym leaderboard up for week 1. Who will take the top spots for male & female in each division?
