Member Spotlight: Andrew Worsham!

This week’s member spotlight is a guy that I’ve had the pleasure of seeing make quite the transformation and progression through the years, not to mention be a pretty great training partner.

He has not only recently really upped the game in his nutrition, but has consistently improved his fitness since his CrossFit beginning in our bootcamp.

How far has he come?  He’s now a staple at Firebreather’s Class AND is about to begin his journey to becoming a coach in our Instructor Training Program!

I’m pleased to introduce to you this week:

What’s your name?

Andrew Worsham

Describe your first work out here at Crossfit High Voltage:

I did my baseline test with Josh, I wasn’t able to finish it and promptly threw up after. At the time, it was so challenging for me I knew I needed to stick with it.

Before joining High Voltage, when did you know something had to change?

I didn’t actually, I was marathon training and moved to Burbank and couldn’t run as freely here, so I wanted to try this since I had friends who had done it before.

Describe your most memorable CrossFit Experience so far.

I think that would be my first attempt at trial by fire. I wanted to take the test but didn’t think I was anywhere near ready. I had a friend recommend I just try it first to see what I needed to work on. I failed my first attempt, but only by 44 seconds. It was a great experience to realize how much closer I was to passing than I had thought I was.

Outside of High Voltage, what kind of work do you do? Give yourself a plug!

I work in property management as well as a freelance travel agent.

Tell us about an area of your life most impacted by your decision to join High Voltage:

When I moved to Burbank I didn’t know many people. While I had a few friends, this community was great at meeting people and making friendships that have lasted.

When have you used CrossFit outside of the box?

Functional fitness for helping people move I guess.

Who is your most idolized fellow community member?

I for a long time always chased Dan. He gave me a great baseline to chase and push myself with.

What is your one year or next CrossFit goal?

I want to complete King Kong.

What is your favorite & least favorite movement or WOD?

I really enjoy full cleans and anyone who knows me, knows I hate that bike. Seriously, eff that bike.

What is your favorite cheat meal?

Always has to be pizza.

If you had to describe CFHV in one sentence:

It’s truly a welcoming community and a fun place to get in shape.
