Today we get to meet another of our momWOD crew, and she’s fresh off a major victory finishing the Spartan Sprint this past weekend with our CFHV Team!

If you haven’t met her, she’s easy to recognize by the big smile she always has on her face. She’s seriously one of happiest, most fun people to be around.

There has been some major progress for her this year, not just in strength & endurance, but also lots of acquisition of new skills.  Her progress can’t be stopped, her laugh is infectious, and her attitude is inspiring.  Take a moment to meet…

Describe your first work out here at Crossfit High Voltage:

Back squats with Katie Brewster! Right away she observed and corrected my form and taught me things I had never heard before. I was so appreciative of that individual attention! I knew quickly I had to be on point at CFHV.

Before joining High Voltage, when did you know something had to change?

I was a runner since I was a young teenager, but I stopped enjoying it after having my daughter, Lily. It was too time consuming for my new lifestyle, but I wanted to be healthy for her and for myself. I fell in love with my results from CFHV!

Describe your most memorable CrossFit Experience so far.

The opens have been my most memorable experiences. Like everyone says, you’re inevitably pushed to a place you haven’t been before, and it’s a great platform for that discovery–I love that shared experience with the rest of the members, and the overall energy of the open.

Outside of High Voltage, what kind of work do you do? Give yourself a plug!

I am Director of Operations for a hospitality and design group based in LA, but we manage and consult across the US. If you don’t see me at CFHV for more than a few days, it typically means I am out of town for work…I would never miss the best hour of my day on purpose! 😉

How has getting in shape changed your professional life?

CFHV truly helped prioritize everything for me. Reaching those tangible, incremental improvements and PR’s throughout the year excites me for every day, every week! My nutrition, my passions, my loved ones–I feel clearer and stronger than ever to take care of those things with enthusiasm.

Tell us about an area of your life most impacted by your decision to join High Voltage

I love that Lily understands that “Qwossfit” is a normal aspect of everyday life, that fitness is just part of the deal…and it’s a FUN part of the deal! She LOVES her Lil’ Sparx class and I love that she will grow up with a good foundation for a healthy lifestyle, which I believe is such an important investment to teach our youth.

When have you used CrossFit outside of the box?

Even though it is not a direct part of my position anymore, I still love and need a break from numbers and the computer every day to handle the physical aspects of the job – hauling DJ equipment, breaking down boxes of liquor, moving tables and chairs, clearing all those heavy plates–people regularly comment on my abilities and strength in these moments and I LOVE IT. 🙂

Who is your most idolized fellow community member?

I don’t see them much but I love Jeannette and Guy! They are both huge inspirations for me. And I absolutely love everyone in my momWOD crew and they’re all so supportive and I’m so proud of them and in awe of them on a regular basis.

What is your one year or next CrossFit goal?

Multiple pull-ups! All I ever think about are pull-ups!!

What is your favorite & least favorite movement or WOD?

Favorite: Cleans, Least favorite: Wall balls.

What is your favorite cheat meal?

All the bread!

If you had to describe CFHV in one sentence:

CFHV is an amazing community of healthy living, support, and teamwork–truly the best hour of my day!
