Member Spotlight: Juan Mundo
About a month ago we featured his wife, and today it’s his turn. The other half of our “Most Athletic Couple” a few holiday parties ago.
He came to us a great athlete, and with his wife by his side and the help of CFHV, he’s taken it to another level. This guy is the king of bodyweight workouts, crushing them and sailing through with ease.
Not to downplay his strength, he came dangerously close to passing “Trial by Fire” last year, and from what I’ve seen lately, 2018 will be his year. Say you knew him before he was famous, it’s:
What’s your name?
Describe your first work out here at Crossfit High Voltage:
It was an afternoon class and I died after the first WOD. I knew I was at the right place!
Before joining High Voltage, when did you know something had to change?
I would workout by myself at a local gym near from home for an hour and didn’t know what the heck I was doing. I knew I needed more structure and harder workouts in my gym routine and CrossFit was perfect!!!
Describe your most memorable CrossFit Experience so far.
Doing more than 1 Muscle Up.

How has getting in shape changed your professional life?
It has kept me plugged in during the full day and alert while conducting my investigations.
Tell us about an area of your life most impacted by your decision to join High Voltage.
My eating habits. Even though I still pig out mostly on the weekends (junk food and beer), CrossFit has motivated me to take care of myself and choose healthier meals during the work week.
When have you used CrossFit outside of the box?
I play indoor soccer since I miss playing so much. Having endurance and good technique helps me kick ass out there on the field.
Who is your most idolized fellow community member?
My wife Natalie Mundo for always pushing me and competing with me to keep improving in every WOD.
What is your one year or next CrossFit goal?
To pass the fire breather test!
What is your favorite & least favorite movement or WOD?
Least favorite movement are snatches. Favorite movement is running haha I like cleans.
What is your favorite cheat meal?
Pizza, beer and candy.
