Vixens and Spartans!
Don’t forget that our bi-weekly Vixen’s Class is THIS Sunday @11am, right after the Energizer Long WOD @10am. This special class will only run until the middle of August, so don’t miss out!
This week I have a guest blog from Coach Derrick, who is preparing for yet another Spartan race coming up soon. He asked if he could share a few words about an upcoming hike & training session he and CFHV member & Spartan Strong co-captain Patrick Caneday are planning, so check it out:
“Are you ready to expand on your training and see your fitness put to the test outside the gym? Do you want to challenge yourself in new ways with a group of like-minded people? If this piques your interest then I invite you to join the CFHV Spartan Strong team.
The CFHV Spartan Strong team consists of a group of individuals from all different fitness levels coming together to train and test their endurance in fun new ways. We do hikes, track workouts, stair workouts, and of course gym workouts.
Several of our members are training for upcoming Spartan Races right now, while others in the group aren’t necessarily planning on running a race so soon. Quite a few of our members are just in it to use their fitness outdoors and help build the CFHV Community.
I’ve had the pleasure of personally running a few Spartan Races in the past and I can tell you from my experience that it is a blast! The races can be challenging, I’ll admit, but it’s a great way to see all that hard work you’ve put in at the box pay off.
My Co-Captain Patrick Caneday and I have a lot of combined experience in mud runs and obstacle races. Between the two of us, we plan workouts to train the CFHV Spartan Strong athletes so that everyone can go into the race feeling ready and confident to hit it hard.
If you’re worried you can’t do it, trust me- you can! All who start will finish. We’ve never left a team member behind. If you are interested, we have a hike this Saturday July 14, 2018, at 8 AM@ Whiting Woods Motorway Trail.
